Copper River Outfitters Black Bear Hunts
Our area has some of the best black bear habitat available in BC. The large network of roads, cutblocks, aspen slopes and salmon-filled rivers makes this region a bear paradise. The rich vegetation combined with the abundance of fish protein, produces large bears with good skulls. 6’ - 7’ ; bears are average, with a few in the 7 1/2’ class. Skull sizes from 18”-21” are common.
During the spring season, we focus on prime hunting dates from mid-May into June. The bears are just out of hibernation and the coats are at their very best. These hunts have been traditionally 100% for 1 bear with many clients taking 2. Clients will see an abundance of other wildlife in the beautiful coastal mountains. Lakes, rivers, glaciers, waterfalls and high rocky peaks are just a glimpse of what to expect.
The trips are 7 days including your arrival and departure days. The hunt is great for rifle, archery or muzzle-loader. Hunts are offered as a 2-on-1 or 1-on-1 if you prefer. After a successful trip, clients enjoy self-guided fishing and day tours of the local area. This is a great trip for clients from North America as well as around the world.
